My Friend asked me, “Machi!!!!! What is love?”.
I thought for a while. Today we don’t see much of it and tragically it is mistaken with lust. I answered slowly, “It is the process in which a man becomes feminine and a woman matures”.
One cannot deny this that easily. We can agree that even between a mother and a father, we find the mother to symbolize love and dad as a protector. Of course no grudge on daddies. But it is a fact. Only a woman can shower love. Don’t we call earth as Mother earth?
A woman expects nothing at any point of time. She cries, I agree but a man cannot do that. Crying is not cowardice and fear too is not. Admitting both is true courage. From the beginning of time, men have been brutes but once they fall for a woman, they literally melt. Their unruly attitudes disappear. The become gentle, presentable. Once he enters a family, the responsibility that he takes is due to love. Haven’t we seen all that? This makes him partly feminine.
Love is sacred. It’s pure, lovely and divine. It starts as a battle as The Sacred Feminine versus The Mighty Masculine but ends as the woman to be the victor but no one defeats.
It makes the world move around. We see the husbands ready to die protecting their wives more often than vice versa. One reason behind this is probably because the man fears that the good guy or the feminine part of him will cease to exist as soon as his love parts plus she can shower love on the kids.
Forget the fact that today love has almost lost it’s meaning. Forget the men’s purses going empty. Forget the flirting and dating. Forget the few idiots who destroy the meaning of love.
Love is feminine. When we define it that way, we understand it better. So let us respect love. The first part of that is respecting our mothers.
