Why do parents hate mobile phones?

Every parent in today’s world is proud of his kid having a mobile phone. They gift a small kid who does not even own a wallet with an attractive, trendy, stylish and grand mobile despite the fact that they have to pay through their nose to get it. Of course today money is not the matter. You have mobile phones starting prices which are very affordable but are we satisfied? Nooooooooooooooooo. That’s not fair is it?

Even officials have normal mobiles. Of course we do have a few with blackberry models or some PDAs but usually they are not interested. It is the youth of today who have the ubercool gadgets. Right from the iphone to the latest trendsetters, it is seen only with the non-earning members of the family.

Sure. One can argue the fact that only the youth listen to fm or to songs or play games etc but one cannot deny that the usage stops with that. Lewd images, videos and the black mails are well known but that does not come into discussion here. I deal with the 99% normal guys and gals out here.

True. I agree with only one point from the parents. The so called sms culture destroys language but one thing to remember is that it is a new form of the language. We get to communicate. Just like the talking slang, this is one kind. And what do they expect? Do we have to be bureaucrats? Saying the formal good morning sir etc? come on, we have forgotten caste creed and all crap in our friendship why the hell do you have a problem with us using machi and mama?

But one fault with us is that isn the process of sending sms, we forget the world around us. We become addicts to the mobiles, we forget people around us. Parnts talk to us but we are mentally absent during these sms periods. Sure, we owe them our attention and no compromise can be made in that but they too cross the limits by spying into ous messages. Is this acceptable?

Technology is for us to develop but not to go the opposite way. We gain friends but we are apparently losing our family in the process. Living under the same roof yet we are miles apart virtually.

Mobiles are a great invention. They have advanced to the level of PDAs and they are there in all walks of life. Every person has a mobile as of today. It is more of a necessity today rather than a luxury.

Let not what excites you execute your family

The WITCH companies bewitching the young minds

This article is not to degrade any of the software companies. WITCH stands for the famous IT companies in India. W for Wipro, I for Infosys, T for TCS, C for Cognizant and H for HCL. These companies are no doubt all very famous, providing huge scope for employment and performing great achievements. We also have many other companies like Accenture, IBM etc but these are the prime companies in India as of today’s fast growing economic scenario.

Our young minds, have grown in a very different environment. Generally all Indians are workaholic. It will not be wrong if anyone says that we are having this quality in our genes. But one more thing that is in our genes is the fact that we always look for alternates. We love to switch to whichever is the best.

Whenever we see a small hike in payroll, we immediately switch to the better option unmindful of the consequences. The companies are innocent and they look for only the talents of the people and reward the employees rather handsomely. But the pay scales differ from company to company.

So whenever the employees notice a higher pay offering, they switch as they are having the necessary qualifications for the jobs. This problem is well known. We see many companies not willing to employ over qualified professionals. This is common in the case of call centres and BPO’s.

So why is this tragic state? Is this not betraying of the company we work for? Should not the loyalty of the employees be questioned? This is indeed a grave situation. From the gaining of our independence, we have believed that independence is the license to live life the way we want.

This is not true. True independence is when we live life the way everyone likes us. It may sound a bit weird as we all are so much into our own definition for independence.

We can switch from one company to another but it is something that must be thought about. It is indeed serious. For example, a person who has lived all his life in Mumbai switching over to a company in Chennai will find it difficult to accommodate himself as every single aspect from climate to language.

So it is up to our youth to decide if they must be bewitched or must they think twice before switching.

The Beautiful Game

‘I give you …. A free and prosperous nation’ screamed the white clad hero
But if we were to believe him, all our bank accounts would read just zero
It is so cool that he gives each of us a truck load of goodies all for free
It is just for us to show him our support in an election where we won’t vote

The election is fixed; it is not defined to happen fairly, that’s the world
But still, he gives us a good allowance plus gifts to vote for him
It is amazing that there is more than one idiot doing the same manifesto
But all the money he gives us is returned to him with interest, manifold

After all, no one comes to power to serve in this large democratic nation,
Corruption and Election are the spotlights of this wonderful nation,
The winner mints money while the losers plot to topple the winner
He did not loose all that money just to be the peacemaker we deserve

He is a wonderful accountant, he writes them flawlessly and accurately
Less than ten percent of the total expenditure is for us, rest is for him
But no income tax officer can trap him, for he is absolutely prolific
And that is democracy for you; every man has his right to steal

Never be honest, if you are then you are not a politician at all
Lie but do it with expertise, you are a fully qualified professional politician
He eliminates his enemies easily with an iron hand but rogues prevail
That is the beauty of democracy; you have the license to be totally fooled

We support these guys even if we have to self-immolate knowing their fraud
But we ignore the thousands of people who live for their fellowmen
They will never care for us; they are not educated about our problems
But their skill in ‘Section 420’ is beyond what our education can give

And we are proud to live in the greatest democracy, that’s the beauty of it
We are not likely to change nor will they allow us to change
We are doomed in this land as Darwin’s Theory of ‘Survival of the fittest’
Will there not be a savior for us, one to help us and care for us?

The time is ripe but there is no savior

Caste, customs and crap! Screw you pal

Two people. So deeply in love. Not wrong in any sense as far as I know. They know that it is love and not the so called carnal hunger or age disorder. The girl is good natured, a decent one and so is the boy. Both have good jobs, status etc. What more do we need? Isn’t everything right here?

Still the parents say no to this union of souls. Believe me guys, the groom is not a vampire or anything that you read in your novels. Both are healthy and good human beings. They put the blame on one silly sick thing. CASTE!!!!!!!!!!!

Screw the society. If you were in such a situation what would you do? Elope or forget the girl? Forgetting is the thing with girls. The guy who was her man till the day before suddenly becomes ‘anna’. Nice right? Over night, a lover becomes a brother. The girl goes off happily or else commits suicide. What becomes of the guy is well known as we see in the movies around us.

Now if the love is true, wont they unite under any circumstance? So they elope despite knowing that it is not respectable. Who is the culprit here? The lovers? Or the so called society? Customs and caste which deprive us of our heart’s desires are trash according to me.

Oh! I totally forgot. There is one set of people who hunt these people down as though they are dogs. And this human hunt has a nice name!!!! yeah…… HONOUR KILLINGS. So nice. You wont let them be happy with you. In case, they become happy elsewhere, you hunt them down like animals.

What sort of a system is this? We guys do not want to cheat our parents but why? Why should we not be happy? Is love a sin? Is caste something lethal? Have we not always cleansed our society off what has defiled it? Shouldn’t this trash called caste be cleansed in the same way we eradicated untouchability?

Come on guys, we see arranged marriages resulting in divorce. What is the point in giving us a life that we know we will never enjoy? Think. Think dear friends. Do we need this evil?

Time to enlighten

Tamil Masala Films? The Ultimatum?

Tamil masala films have always been something quite extraordinary. Just like they say in our K-town. No logic, only magic. It is something unique as it gives us a lot to think about.

We have seen a hero in the recent times. He was laurelled till a little while ago but now, everything he touches turns to trash. Flop following another flop and our hero seems to be the all new Robert Bruce. Well let’s just say that this is too much of a good thing. It is so nice because every movie of his differs only by who plays the female lead. Rest is all the same. The comedy, the songs, the stunts etc, all the same.

But the king of masala has always been our very own SUPER STAR. He sort of set the trend with his unique style and accent and not to forget, the punch dialogs which highlight the movie. But we do know that this man too can perform as good as any man around in the industry.

But when every little guy in the area copies him? Is it not boring? Well not everyone can be the SUPER STAR. But we do have many actors who experiment. From the olden days of tamil cinema, we have had two legends. The late Shivaji Ganesan and Padmashri Kamalahaasan. They sort of serve as a library for budding actors.

These people alternated with experiments and masala movies. Experiments were mild risks but the masala films are sure hits. So they either have consecutive hits or one flop which gives them time to think about the future.

Including our comedians, everyone has to be innovative in the present days. We have one man who sculpts his body and grows younger everyday. One more man, who can transform from a superhero to a ruffian overnight. We have people who experiment rooling the roost. We have new contestants for the numero uno position.

But still, masala films have been the safest bet. Six songs, two of which are duets and three fights along with a good amount of comedy. That is exactly what a masala film is all about.

The safety bet of tamil cinema

Strict colleges create big zeroes

Nice topic isn’t it? Yes it’s true too. SSN is the best college in Chennai. That’s cause the students get their dose of freedom.

What do we ask? Healthy communication, time to chat, smiles, weekends off and semester holidays. Nothing much. All affordable. We saw an episode in NEEYA NAANA in Vijay tv.

At anytime when there is too much restriction, we intend to break the rules. What we fear is that these colleges may create aversion towards studies. If we talk this in our college, our ID card disappears. That’s life.

What do they get in seeing us cry? This happens in many colleges. We have very sweet people called floor supervisors and it is the dearest wish of students to kick these guys. Overdoing of one’s job, I’d say.

We have a short college life. We’d not score so much and take up engineering studies to end up in the life of a jail bird. Atleast a jail inmate has games, chicken and what not?

Fines truly run the colleges. College is the era to bunk but we are deprived of that pleasure too. Damn it. People who read this may call me a rebel. But this is for those jail birds who’ll agree with me saying I’m posting their hearts.

We are students. We want to study but don’t make our lives to be hell please. This is hell. Think of yourselves in our position. You’d not like this yourself dear elders. If any college administrator sees this please help us dear teachers. We do not want to party but please give us the freedom we deserve.

We intend to be engineers but please don’t send us running for the hills.

Staying in my very own personal hell on earth.

The Raptor in today’s world

Is today’s world devoid of dinosaurs? Think again. I think there are two of them alive even today. Blessed with mind blowing speed, agility, accuracy and the ability to dazzle their prey. Confused?

We’ve got two modern day raptors. They dance around their prey and are flawless plus they coordinate their activities.

You see them often in television. I’m sure you would have cheered for them in the recent times. Yes I’m talking about the Argentine king of play making Lionel Messi and the Portuguese winging wizard Cristiano Ronaldo.

Football is not just the most popular game. It is a treat to the eyes. You can see it as a battle where able warriors penetrate through their opponent’s defense. Some struggle but some have the skill. This I believe is a gift at birth.

From the beginning of football we’ve had heroes. We have popular names. I’d back Pele any day to be the number 1. But I think these two players are strong contenders.

Even the best defenders in today’s game need to be at their best to even try to match these wizards. But the one fact about Messi is his fairplay. Any player who gets attacked as mush as him as in this world cup would have punched every attacker in the face but there is an air of gentleness.

He dazzles, is behind every goal scored and every opportunity created and ravishes the opportunities given to him. Smiles is all that we see while the crowd do nothing but applaud.

Cristiano is another hitman. We see him in all smiles too in South Africa despite the exit in the round of 16. The most expensive player in the world has nothing to prove and is another person who’s second to none.

Don’t these guys get tired of everyone admiring them? Don’t they get sick of goals? Well as long as they make me relish football and Argentina take home the cup, I wont complain.

Prepare to be dazzled. There’s atleast a decade left for our dear fellows.

Love? or some crap?

What will it take for mortals to see what is true?
Truth lies before our eyes but we conveniently ignore it
Commonly love and lust are easily mistaken
But both are as different as chalk and cheese to be confused with

A true friend is the lucky guy who is booed and let down
And a fraud is one who is fondly goo-gooed
Money might be powerful enough to make many things including evil
But looks indeed today the soul cause of evil

Pain, the best teacher is no more on us incident
Pleasure and Lust are the only things those are evident
A man’s problem us his alone but I really pity the feminine
Senseless, the fall for not the heart but for the looks and money of masculine

Mistakes and small fights are omnipresent
It is upto us to realize what is truly present
Love is feared today by people who need nothing more than it
It makes the world go round and sans it we will be nothing but corpses

We all know that appearances are often deceptive
And many use this to their convenience being calculative
It is time for men and women to be sensible
Understand that only truth is indispensable

See not with your eyes but from your soul
