Transfer Window Summary - 'Summer of 2016'

Hi,

Transfer deadline days are fun for football fans. While most fans are looking for one major buy, it is a time when clubs cut their losses and sell off certain players. Mario Balotelli left Liverpool on deadline day, August 2016 on a FREE. Allen, Benteke and almost a dozen others followed and the cases of Allen and Balotelli making us wonder if Liverpool forgot YNWA. Well Balotelli had to go. Loans were the trend on deadline day with Manchester City sending players worth around 80 MILLION on loan. Hart, Nasri, Bony and Mangala left on loan as EPL’s wage bills reduced by a good amount.

It was a surprising summer where Stones went for almost 50 million, Mane for 30 million, Gomes for 50 million and Higuain (Oh my God. How drunk were they?) for a blasphemous amount. On the other hand, deals were done on the cheap. Ibrahimovic (Signing of the Summer! Mark my words), Feghouli, Matip, Menez, Mandanda, Llorente, Valdes, Balotelli (He He He) …  All on free transfers while few bargains were made as well. Nani was a steal given his for in the Euro and Morata and Denis Suarez were bought back on the cheap while Bartra, Gabigol, Digne were bought for not-so-crazy prices.

Barca who made it known that they had no money to spend managed to buy Gomes and then some more in a busy window while underdogs Leicester purchased the likes of Musa and Zieler to cement their place on top. With matches already having happened, a lot of questions are in place. Like 1. Why did Liverpool not buy a left back? 2. Why did Real Madrid have a silent window despite a potential ban? 3. Why are people crazy for David Luiz?

Crystal Palace and Bournemouth showcased their spending power with TV money while Liverpool had a record number of exits and a net negative spending (When did we see that before?). Guardiola’s arrival brought the likes of Sane, Stones, Nolito, Gundogan among others while Mourinho brought Pogba back ‘home’ and Mkhitaryan too. 12 clubs broke their transfer record (Add-ons could add Liverpool to this list) Loans were everywhere with the likes of Negredo, Markovic, the above 4 from City and 38 players(YES 38!) from Chelsea including a three year loan for Cuadrado.

The windows are sealed. It won’t open for another four months. Now is the time when the managers let their spending do the talking. Will the biggest spenders earn the biggest rewards or will someone do a Leicester this year (Mind you. Leicester spent the windfall from the sale of Kante and then some more). Gameiro and Noltio snubbed Barca but Alcacer opted to be the understudy of MSN. Rodriguez and Isco will stay at Madrid as another season kicks into full-swing after a short International Break.

Game On!

Gold ... Blame it all you want

Hi,

People say that India is a developing country. People say that India has a low standard of living and so many other things. I have no intention in agreeing or disagreeing to them but when they say that India is a poor country, I find it hard to believe. I may be wrong but look at my argument and then correct me if I am wrong.

In India, gold is a prized asset. It is a worthy item to bet on. When you see every household, we stock gold up in the form or ornaments against the ideal decision of coins which would be better investment. Every household has at least 5 grams of gold. Taking the current prize of gold in India, isn't that quite a lot of wealth?

Think about it

The Perfect Product

Nothing in the world can be perfect. This is true no matter what is under consideration. Many people tend to say that their girlfriends are perfect, no arguments there. Here, I wish to say something about this fact being exploited in thriving businesses in the world.

There is one secret to any business. Please don’t ignore this just because I am a guy who has just entered his twenties but do hear me out. The secret is simple. Never create a perfect product. Try to add a minimum of one imperfection to your product. Why? The answer is simple once again. Your business has a possibility of growth only as long as you have room for improvement.

Aside from the fact that things can always be improved upon, it is always imperfection that raises the value. Remember diamonds? A product is your diamond. The secret to a good business is just as simple as that. Look at mobile phones for instance. It is one of the most thriving businesses in India today and can anyone name a perfect mobile? Go on. I dare you.

There is no way to make a perfect product, just a million ways to make a good one

Two kinds of College

When people asked me 'How do you like your college?', i always had a prompt reply of 'I like it closed'. Don't take me wrong. I did have fun during my engineering but i constantly felt suffocated. You would too if you did engineering where i did. That was the first thing that changed when i started with my MBA.

I believe that liking a place actually has us working better there. I experienced this when i worked and when i joined MBA. Nearly fifty days into my course and the feeling is fresh. I can finally smile. All that keeps me wondering is why do certain institutions make life a living hell for its students? Is taking up engineering in a college like mine (It is reputed indeed) a sin?

We had the feeling that we were re-living prison break everyday. Now???? I have a feeling that I'm re-living something fun. Something like FRIENDS or HIMYM or whichever you find is cool

Wrong ... But a Thrill indeed

Hi,

There is nothing quite like the thrill of copying in an exam. Having no experience in it is sad for me but I have had quite a lot of experience in sharing answers during the exams. I still remember my class 12 when a friend was able to get answers from me despite the teacher changing our positions in each exam. We were even on the opposite corners of the room with different question papers and he still got a 65+ on 75 in a computer science exam.

The thrill of fooling the invigilator and in cases like mine, taunting the teacher is fun. Somehow, in the broken education system that we have today, things like these seem to be the only fun thing. People say stuff like ‘you are not helping your friend but only spoiling him’ in a pathetic attempt to stop him but will anyone not tell answers to a friend?

Life is short. Our system is broken. Our exams contain loads of theory which neither the teacher nor the students understand. What is the point is doing it in an uptight manner?

Make the most out of it

Laughing it Off

One of the greatest things in college life is making fun of others. The perks here lie in the fact that nobody is hurt when friends tease each other. It leads to the so called “being sportive” attitude if you are an optimist because let’s face it. It’s better to be made fun of in a friendly environment than in a hostile environment that awaits us.

I’d like to call it the training grounds and the friends who tease us will give us a good idea of how our bosses will be like at their best moods. I intend no offense against people who make fun of others because if we cannot make fun of ourselves, how can we improve?

Despite people being extremely creative in coining names and other sounds etc., it is the person himself who creates room for most of it. Come on! If you wear extremely flashy dresses, extremely weird hairstyles, make the funniest mistakes and create awkward situations, it is nice to have people laughing about it rather than fuming about it

The Role of the Groom in Weddings - 'Show up and Say the Right Name'

The event of a guy planning out his marriage brings about questions regarding whether he is out of the closet or not. I’m never concerned about that but what I am going to write about today is about what a guy owes to his woman on his wedding. Whether people agree to this or not, the wedding is a woman’s dream and not the guy’s. If you are a guy and you have been dreaming about your wedding since you were a child, then good for you.

However, a wedding is a dream for a woman. Women can talk about weddings for the same amount of time that guys can make fun of them. Believe me when I say that both never end. However, it is generally fun to see your woman excited and going in full flow about the wedding. Rather than listening to what she has to say and commenting about it, it would be better to see her happy and to go on and on. After all, it is her day.
The best thing a guy could do on his wedding day is to let his woman have all that she wants. She is marrying him. Why not give her the pleasure. They say that marriage is about sharing and love is about giving and not expecting. A wedding is a gift of love that a guy gives to his woman. He is a part of it. The ideal guy would let her have all she wants, turn up when she wants him to and ask for nothing much but a waltz with her.

The Stereotypes on TV

English TV series teach you a few stuff

1. All ghosts and other creatures exist only in USA (Supernatural)
2. Every high school and college kid in the US smokes weed (Weeds and Breaking Bad)
3. Nobody is a virgin (Almost all serials)
4. Everyone and everything is recorded on traffic cams (White collar)
5. At the end of the episode the villain is caught (Most series)
6. A hot girl sleeps with half the town and finally ends up with the geek across the hall (Big Bang Theory)
7. 90% of time spent is at the bar (HIMYM)
8. The lead character will always get laid somehow or the other (2.5 men, californication and the list goes on)
9. Anything and everything is a better love story than twilight
10. Most series are way better than the movies (Game of thrones and so on)

PS : I have no grudges. If not for such series, i would never have survived college. I'm sure many feel the same way

Sachin - A Legend in this Sport Forever

What is there left to say about the man?

Words are now as meaningless as runs on the final, dreary afternoon a of long-drawn Test. Instead, let us celebrate -- and there is so much to celebrate!

"What stands out in an exceptional career of unbelievable achievements is Sachin Tendulkar's ability to change, adapt and mould his batting according to the conditions around him. What makes him a phenomenal player is that he has done so many things, be it scoring the highest number of Test and one-day runs or scoring a century of international centuries,"

"What he has done is set a benchmark for future generations which, probably, would be almost impossible for anyone to emulate. He has created a new milestone, which to my mind, is like Don Bradman's average of 99.94, the most memorable feat that any cricketer has achieved. Like overtaking Bradman's average appears almost impossible today, Sachin's century feat too will in all probability stay forever"

Suffice to say, he is the greatest cricketer I have ever seen. I haven't seen Bradman, but he is as close to perfection as you can get. His insatiable hunger, combined with incredible talent, makes him a real genius. When people criticise him, all I point to them is the 100 international hundreds

The difference between Sachin and a really good player is the latter, if he scores a hundred in the first innings and has once again scored a fifty in the second, will, in all likelihood, play one loose shot thereafter. It happens to us all. Sachin, however, will leave nothing to chance and will get the second innings hundreds as well. That's why I always say that (Brian) Lara was a great and Ponting too was a brilliant, but Sachin, without any hesitation, is the greatest. He is the best I have ever seen and will perhaps ever see. No batsman in the next 50 years can score 100 international hundreds

Kudos to the greates ODI player of all time
Q

Look don't Touch

A Harmless Time Pass

People always have a low opinion on the boys who flock to street corners and do the so called "Sighting" but they fail to understand that nobody is immune to this. What's wrong in looking? After all, people do say 'Look don't touch'.

The problem maybe because the guys tend to cross limits but trust me when i say this. There is no better pass time for both sexes besides sighting. It's cheap, requires no work and can be done on the go. After all,
what is the use of beauty if it is not admired? Nobody lost anything just because somebody looked at them. I don't approve of drooling but drooling and "sighting" are two very different things.

Look at this in my way. You are stuck in traffic, driving your bike on a very hot day and a seriously hot chick pulls over next to you. She's inside a car but visible. Would you mind the wait? If any girls are reading this, think that a handsome hunk pulled over next to you.

The beautiful thing about "sighting" is that you don't need to look out for only the pretty ones. It happens on the go and even the "Mokka pieces" are fun to watch. You can make comments to yourself. However if you voice out your comments to attract their attention or hurt them, do know that you have crossed a line. Again, "sighting" and ogling are two very different things.

Another place where this works is when you travel alone. Time flies by when you look around. I do not know what sightseeing means in the conventional sense but "sighting" does cool me off.

You get immensely relaxed by just a glance. It's so cool. Best of all, it has no guidelines. Look all you want. Just don't make the person whom you are looking at feel uncomfortable

Q

Illuminating my path so far

A good teacher is one who can reach out even to the dumbest of students and for anyone out there who is not a natural born genius, a teacher plays an important role in shaping who you are. In my life I have seen ten such people who are listed in the order in which I saw them. I am not comparing one with another as I know that it would be the same as asking if the left or the right eye is more important.

The first one is the first teacher I ever had. To me, the first impression was really good. She was a teacher who knew what it meant to be headstrong. I called her a ‘rowdy’ and I still do yet you can't imagine a kinder person. It is not a complaint but a compliment for she knew how to be confident. She was different to my mother in one way. She feared nothing and had what we call ‘dhill’ in huge amounts. She could talk the right way and get what she wanted anyday. All she taught me were rhymes and stories but apparently from what I remember now, I learnt a lot more

My first two teachers shared the same first name. The first is the confident teacher I mention above but the next was the exact opposite. I don’t think she even knows how to be angry. I have seen only her smile and that is all I remember of her. Her speech itself was like a song and she taught me letters and my first words. I still remember how I was pushed forward to perform on my fancy dress contest. I lost fear of the audience on that day and it is good that I did.

The next teacher came after a while. The first thing I remember when I think of her is the comical but funny phrase ‘ Arey mama’. She did not share my mother tongue this one. I remember her by the eyeliner that she wore. It was after taking her class that I could pronounce words. If today I am even a little good in speech I guess I owe it to her.

Then came the next one in a little while. She commanded the English language as though it was her slave. She had the trademark streak of white hair in her head and I was scared when she came to handle moral science for me the first time. When she began the class I knew that I had nothing to fear and a lot to awe. Today I am a guy writing poems and trying to write short stories and novels. The seed to all that I suppose was laid by her. She spoke and still speaks flawlessly in every language that she likes and has what we guys call ‘a professional approach’ written all over her.

Years passed and in my second school, I had a history teacher. People called her rocket. I wondered why. She spoke quickly, walked briskly, valued papers in a jiffy and got angry in no time but beyond all that I saw her thirst to see every student of hers achieve something. She wanted me to become a collector and I suppose I will let her down. I might end up in the IT field but I will never forget the three years of history class that she handled for me.

Moving to a new city was painful. Being picked on by a teacher was scary but when you realize that the person picks on you so that you come out of your shell and shine, life becomes good. I still remember the ‘if you smile when you listen to chemistry, it is not nice’ that she says with pun intended. Never has the class been without a laugh when she said this and due to her command in the subject and her knack in explaining, I never had difficulty in chemistry.

Physics is an awesome subject. When you have someone who can take no nonsense and yet handle the subject with absolute command, you have a dictator of a teacher. But she wasn’t so. She handled the subject so slowly and steadily. Today I regret why she does not work in a college but if she had done that, I would not have had the luck of being in her class. It only lasted a year but I finally loved physics as a subject and started to study it.

Math was some I was quick at but not accurate. My board exam year was when I got a new math teacher. As opposed to any teacher in my past, she told me I am obligated to score a centum. I regret to say that I failed her but I learnt from her that we are nothing without practice. I have never scored a centum in a major test but I will always try to do it just due to what this teacher told me.

The next one is my relative and handled lab classes for my. To be a teacher is a thing, to be applauded by students is something but to be applauded by every student is true awesomeness. She is not my mother but she told me that I am like her son. I am proud of what she said and more than proud that I am related to her. She is the strongest hearted person I know and from her, I learnt that you cannot please everyone but all you need to do is your work. I learnt this as I was her student and so did the so many who told me this very thing.

The next was my physics teacher in college. All my teachers know that I ask doubts and when I ask doubts, I rain the teacher with them. In this man, I saw only a smile when he answered my questions. At the end of three years in college, he is the only teacher I want to remember.

There are many more teachers who helped me. However this is thanks to everyone who has taught me and a special thanks to the ten. I only hope that I can attend one more of your classes

Q

Two friends

Art of friends is the name of my blog. A friend is anyone whose company you cherish. Here are two great friends I came across.

People are used to hearing grandma’s tales. To me however it was grandpa’s tales. My grandmothers, both were so intent on pleasing me with the tastiest dishes on the planet. The tales I heard from my grandfathers were the first proper bedtime tales.
I start with the maternal grandpa. I still remember his ‘Vaathapi jeernaapi’ story as though it happened yesterday. His life has not been a bed of roses but he has always found time for me. Right from the time in my childhood when he brought me snacks in a small packet during his weekend visits, to the time when he settled a feud with his brother just because I said so, he has seen me as an equal. I admire that. In an era where elders see squat in the opinion of youngsters, he has always valued my words. I write today, poems and stories in English and Tamil. If it were due to genes then I guess that I got it from him. I can never write the way he does with such skill and expertise but I can try hard to be atleast half as good. I only hope that he listens to me and quits on beetel leaves too. He has always been the first one to avoid arguments and one of the first in his generation to treat a son and a daughter equally. He has been a good and a really patient father and a really encouraging and motivating grandfather.

My paternal grandpa is a child by heart. I remember the time when we used to play cricket and he used to bowl to me with high energy and a wide smile. His stories that often used the words ‘andhaala…..’ were a joy to hear. I heard the story of sivaji ganesan’s all time classic ‘manohara’ from him and trust me, he narrated it even better. He does sincerely a puja everyday and that is something to admire. He walks as fast as I jog and never tires of it. We share the fear of syringes and trust me, syringes are scary. My dad always says that his father was a damn good one and he has played the role of a grandfather in the same damn good way. Something I can never forget is the way he plays carom. I am the only one in my family to have beaten him in a contest fair and square but it was just the once. I haven’t been able to repeat the feat. According to me, no one can ever truly beat him at his best for m. I see his creativity when he decorates the ‘golu’ during Navarathri and his inquisitiveness when he competes with me in video games.
I have had two wonderful friends. I don’t know how many have friends in their grandfathers but trust me when I say that it is awesome
Q

Sulk if you want to live, percept if you want to win

In today’s world, it’s hard to find decent people. The irony is that the people coming under decent are hard core losers. Said a wise and learned man that if you are upright, loyal, true and virtuous you deserve to be screwed.

One of the closest examples that illustrate this is gold. 24 carat gold can be seen and marveled but it can never be used. So the good people are requested to please sulk. The important point to remember is that I do not advocate people to loose themselves, practice blasphemy and curse every thing under the sun.

Ever heard of that thing called perception? Well perception only can save you. Or rather the psychologists call it attitude. One needs to know that the world is hostile. It will knock you down if you bow to it. All one needs to do is never give up if you feel you are right. If your heart feels something is right, nothing else matters. History has shown us the victory of such people. Remember Socrates? Does the name Galileo ring a bell?

Sometimes you may be right and go on in your path but you will have to adjust to the situation. Again we take Socrates and Galileo. Socrates stood uptight valiantly but I feel that it is stupidity. Wasn’t he force fed poison? Galileo on the other hand stood like a devout catholic in front of the church but he pursued his own goals and we see him as one of the most important reasons that science is as it is today.

The advantage of situation in which you are forced to sulk is the fact that you can convert it to your ally if you are able to percept well. For instance, if you hate a teacher, what is the point in neglecting the subject? The teacher is least affected if you neglect the subject. Try to master the subject. You end up correcting the teacher in his mistakes making a fool of him in front of others and also getting a fine score.

The problem with perception is that it even more difficult than inception but once you get hold of it you can do it pretty easily. Just as Di Caprio says in inception that ‘ an idea is like a seed ‘ let me say that ‘ perception is a key ‘, a key to unlock your way to the path of success.

The point I try to stress out here is the fact that I want you to convert all the negative energy of sulking as fuel for your thirst to achieve. This is like rocket fuel and it boosts you up because you focus all your anger, frustration and spite not to destroy yourself but to improve yourself. Think about this. If you need any help Q is there for you.

Never give up on anything you feel to be right

The Cry of the Untold

Pains, cries, moans and defeats is all that has been me all this while
I have gone through so many thinks, walked many a mile
But all over this globe I have seen none who has even swept me
Maybe it is because no one in this world can ever be you

I truly wish that I kneel in front of you burning all my negatives
And that you bring out the love that is hidden inside you dear olives
You can run but you cannot hide, I ran but love found me
You never ran but so beautifully you disguised the love for me

But love is no stream my dear, it is an ocean and you like a kid
Just ignore the fact that it oozes out of you every second you bid
You cannot love anyone the way you are in love with me
Nor can you recreate the moments you are and will share with me

The closeness? The fondling? The cajoling? Is that all a lie
Do you need more concrete evidence to say you can’t create a lie
I know I am not worth you cause I am no prince or handsome
But I know beyond doubt that I can keep you happier than anyone

Love finds you and no one can deny that cause it is written
And it is indeed written for us which is why we bond my kitten
You can be stupid and avoid me for reasons that are not true
But nothing will ever stop me from continuing my love

And if you think time will divert me or that another man will
You truly know nothing about my iron clad strong will
I will not leave you for any reason because you have my heart
And you cannot give it back to me because it will kill us both

I will wait for you my darling till ‘death do us apart’
Or rather till death does me away rather than being with you

Open your eyes my darling
Q

The Pleasure of Craziness

Craziness is not eccentricity, in my world, it is bliss
Sometimes craziness is in fact sweeter than a mother’s kiss
People are crazy in one way or the other and no one is an exception
Well if you think the world’s most difficult thing is inception,
Think again, cause tougher still is its creator – perception

Among all of the world’s craziness, beyond all the weird ones
The premier one that takes the crown are the love based ones
There is nothing more blissful than being crazy for someone
But even more blissful is if you are craved for by someone
And if that someone is from your dream, that is true paradise

But just like all that in nature which is desired is difficult to obtain
This is one dream, dreamt by all but difficult to sustain
The peak of this craziness is the pursuit of your soul’s dreams
And working for that – the sweat takes you to peace’s realms
If one day the dream my life finds me, I will embrace it

And I will make my life but colorful and beautiful like the sunset
And it will make sure on its own that you are never again upset
There is nothing more pleasant than living for your loved ones
From your parents to siblings to your wife, they are precious ones
And you will not share that happiness unless you get your dreams

The thing with reaching your dream is that it is not easy
But the sweat and the blood shed for it makes your life breezy
Do not stop for the people born just to deter you
But just make sure you never loose what is written for you
And here I end my waffle hoping to get crazy and dream

Go Crazy – for your passion

The Warrior who failed to mesmerize

He was not one of those things that swipes you off your feet
Nor is he something of super-cool nature which you really wanna meet
He lay in seclusion for quite a long time but he’d not mind
Cause he was a pure oddity, one of a kind

He never cried nor did he mourn but sadness surrounded him
Like battle field and smoke, it was inseparable from him
But he survived the hardships and learnt how to avoid new obstacles
He became a warrior who could face even death and return victorious

He waded through the sea of life like a dolphin, absolutely calm
Within a very short time, he found the world within his palm
One day, like the bolt from the blue came a flower to him
It was not his but he wanted it to be and thus he found a partner

The flower gave him the one thing which he had never seen,
And he became addicted to that gift and he cared for nothing but her
Happiness was that gift which he got only from her,
And he knew that all his life, he must be a slave to her

The warrior loved the flower and he cared for nothing but her,
And the flower loved him too, but would never admit it
For the warrior was inferior to her in all walks of life
She could not leave him nor could she be with him

Scarred, he was as he had been in battles all his life
Beyond everything, he wanted some happiness in his life
Due to his experience, he read through the flower’s mind
And decided that he had to do something for her to be happy

Should he stay with her and make her realize her love?
Or should he leave her in hope that she finds solace elsewhere?
He knew so much of life but he could not answer this
Such is the power of love, it makes you know that you have a heart

To be or not to be?
Q

Why do parents hate mobile phones?

Every parent in today’s world is proud of his kid having a mobile phone. They gift a small kid who does not even own a wallet with an attractive, trendy, stylish and grand mobile despite the fact that they have to pay through their nose to get it. Of course today money is not the matter. You have mobile phones starting prices which are very affordable but are we satisfied? Nooooooooooooooooo. That’s not fair is it?

Even officials have normal mobiles. Of course we do have a few with blackberry models or some PDAs but usually they are not interested. It is the youth of today who have the ubercool gadgets. Right from the iphone to the latest trendsetters, it is seen only with the non-earning members of the family.

Sure. One can argue the fact that only the youth listen to fm or to songs or play games etc but one cannot deny that the usage stops with that. Lewd images, videos and the black mails are well known but that does not come into discussion here. I deal with the 99% normal guys and gals out here.

True. I agree with only one point from the parents. The so called sms culture destroys language but one thing to remember is that it is a new form of the language. We get to communicate. Just like the talking slang, this is one kind. And what do they expect? Do we have to be bureaucrats? Saying the formal good morning sir etc? come on, we have forgotten caste creed and all crap in our friendship why the hell do you have a problem with us using machi and mama?

But one fault with us is that isn the process of sending sms, we forget the world around us. We become addicts to the mobiles, we forget people around us. Parnts talk to us but we are mentally absent during these sms periods. Sure, we owe them our attention and no compromise can be made in that but they too cross the limits by spying into ous messages. Is this acceptable?

Technology is for us to develop but not to go the opposite way. We gain friends but we are apparently losing our family in the process. Living under the same roof yet we are miles apart virtually.

Mobiles are a great invention. They have advanced to the level of PDAs and they are there in all walks of life. Every person has a mobile as of today. It is more of a necessity today rather than a luxury.

Let not what excites you execute your family
Q

The WITCH companies bewitching the young minds

This article is not to degrade any of the software companies. WITCH stands for the famous IT companies in India. W for Wipro, I for Infosys, T for TCS, C for Cognizant and H for HCL. These companies are no doubt all very famous, providing huge scope for employment and performing great achievements. We also have many other companies like Accenture, IBM etc but these are the prime companies in India as of today’s fast growing economic scenario.

Our young minds, have grown in a very different environment. Generally all Indians are workaholic. It will not be wrong if anyone says that we are having this quality in our genes. But one more thing that is in our genes is the fact that we always look for alternates. We love to switch to whichever is the best.

Whenever we see a small hike in payroll, we immediately switch to the better option unmindful of the consequences. The companies are innocent and they look for only the talents of the people and reward the employees rather handsomely. But the pay scales differ from company to company.

So whenever the employees notice a higher pay offering, they switch as they are having the necessary qualifications for the jobs. This problem is well known. We see many companies not willing to employ over qualified professionals. This is common in the case of call centres and BPO’s.

So why is this tragic state? Is this not betraying of the company we work for? Should not the loyalty of the employees be questioned? This is indeed a grave situation. From the gaining of our independence, we have believed that independence is the license to live life the way we want.

This is not true. True independence is when we live life the way everyone likes us. It may sound a bit weird as we all are so much into our own definition for independence.

We can switch from one company to another but it is something that must be thought about. It is indeed serious. For example, a person who has lived all his life in Mumbai switching over to a company in Chennai will find it difficult to accommodate himself as every single aspect from climate to language.

So it is up to our youth to decide if they must be bewitched or must they think twice before switching.

Look before you leap
Q

The Beautiful Game

‘I give you …. A free and prosperous nation’ screamed the white clad hero
But if we were to believe him, all our bank accounts would read just zero
It is so cool that he gives each of us a truck load of goodies all for free
It is just for us to show him our support in an election where we won’t vote

The election is fixed; it is not defined to happen fairly, that’s the world
But still, he gives us a good allowance plus gifts to vote for him
It is amazing that there is more than one idiot doing the same manifesto
But all the money he gives us is returned to him with interest, manifold

After all, no one comes to power to serve in this large democratic nation,
Corruption and Election are the spotlights of this wonderful nation,
The winner mints money while the losers plot to topple the winner
He did not loose all that money just to be the peacemaker we deserve

He is a wonderful accountant, he writes them flawlessly and accurately
Less than ten percent of the total expenditure is for us, rest is for him
But no income tax officer can trap him, for he is absolutely prolific
And that is democracy for you; every man has his right to steal

Never be honest, if you are then you are not a politician at all
Lie but do it with expertise, you are a fully qualified professional politician
He eliminates his enemies easily with an iron hand but rogues prevail
That is the beauty of democracy; you have the license to be totally fooled

We support these guys even if we have to self-immolate knowing their fraud
But we ignore the thousands of people who live for their fellowmen
They will never care for us; they are not educated about our problems
But their skill in ‘Section 420’ is beyond what our education can give

And we are proud to live in the greatest democracy, that’s the beauty of it
We are not likely to change nor will they allow us to change
We are doomed in this land as Darwin’s Theory of ‘Survival of the fittest’
Will there not be a savior for us, one to help us and care for us?

The time is ripe but there is no savior
